AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP BY DESCENT
See: Australian Citizenship
To register your child as an Australian Citizen by descent you must complete form 118 and post it to our office by Registered Mail to PO Box 33801, Tel Aviv.
It is very important that you use the up-to-date/current form/version/design date from the Internet. The design date/version is printed at the bottom right hand side of each page of the form (for example (Design date 07/08).
As there is no requirement to lodge citizenship applications in person and due to many other cases requiring mandatory interviews and personal lodgement, you should send your application, processing fee and supporting documents by registered mail, unless there is a genuine emergency, such as the death or sudden and serious illness of a close relative in Australia. If you have a genuine emergency or exceptioal circumstances, please contact us for an appointment by e-mail (immigration.telaviv@dfat.gov.au) or phone (03) 6935000.
